The Expert System Platform is a unique knowledge execution platform that enables all of the Knowledge Modules provided by TheraDoc. These modules are comprised of validated clinical tools, alerts and wizards that provide active and real-time electronic surveillance to enhance healthcare processes and improve patient care and safety throughout a healthcare organization.
Standards-based technology enables seamless interoperability.
TheraDoc interfaces its standards-based Expert System Platform on-site with a hospital's legacy health information systems to leverage existing patient data within electronic medical records—whether they consist of single vendor or best-of-breed solutions. TheraDoc normalizes the data and applies standard medical vocabularies to ensure functional and clinically accurate interoperability.
To provide real-time electronic surveillance systems for injury detection and prevention, the Expert System Platform actively and continuously surveys for clinically significant changes in a patient's condition. When a potential or real problem is identified, it combines evidence-based expert knowledge with institutional and individual patient data relevant to the clinical event. The Expert System Platform concurrently utilizes TheraDoc Knowledge Modules to intelligently alert clinicians and deliver patient- and disease-specific information and treatment recommendations to the point-of-care.
TheraDoc technology further enables real-time and informed decision-making by providing the right information at the right time—and in the right format, to clinicians via a Web-browser, handheld, pager and email applications.
The TheraDoc Expert System Platform is based on a scalable n-tier architecture based on robust third party technologies. Its OLKP® (On-Line Knowledge Processing) decision repository is based on an Oracle® 10g database. TheraDoc provides database administration services as part of our full-feature maintenance and support services.
In addition to providing the comprehensive "out-of-the-box" technology that you need to significantly increase the quality and safety of patient care at your hospital, the Expert System Platform is packaged with three cross-functional clinical tools.
